Besides being enraptured from a hammock with the exclusive view of Ensenada Honda Bay, guests can visit other beaches that are easier to reach by boat.
In our visit to the town of Jayuya, we were impressed to see how its urban area is very lively and how the majority of the buildings are well kept. With the construction of big shopping malls and neighborhoods, the urban areas of many towns of the island have been abandoned. However, the town of Jayuya is another story.
Some people compare it to the Galapagos Islands for its unspoiled natural surroundings. The pristine beaches, the species of amphibians, birds and reptiles (some are endemic), the caves with taíno petroglyphs, and the reefs that encircle the coastal lagoons contribute to the fact that Mona Island is recognized as the Galapagos of the Caribbean.
